Setting Up Your DriveBook Profile: A Step-by-Step Guide

A complete DriveBook profile converts more visitors into bookings. Here's exactly what to fill in and why each section matters.

Your DriveBook profile is the first thing a potential student sees when they find you through search or a direct link. A complete, well-written profile converts significantly better than an incomplete one. Here's how to fill it in properly.

Step 1: Profile Photo

Upload a clear, professional-looking photo of yourself. It doesn't need to be studio quality — good natural light and a clean background are enough. Smile. You're meeting a nervous learner driver for the first time; your photo sets the tone.

Also upload a photo of your car. Students want to know what vehicle they'll be learning in. A clean exterior shot works well.

Why it matters: Instructors with photos receive significantly more bookings than those without. Students are making a trust decision. A face and a car build more trust than a blank profile.

Step 2: Your Bio

Write 3–5 sentences about yourself. Be specific:

  • Your experience and qualifications
  • What types of students you work best with (nervous learners, teenagers, adults, international licence holders)
  • Your teaching style
  • The suburbs you cover
  • Any languages you teach in other than English

Avoid generic phrases like "experienced and patient instructor." Every instructor says that. Write something that's specifically true about you.

Example: "I've been teaching in Perth's northern suburbs for six years, with a focus on nervous and first-time learners. I'm familiar with all test routes in Joondalup and Wanneroo and I teach in a dual-control Corolla. I also teach in Tagalog and can accommodate students with flexible or irregular schedules."

Step 3: Service Areas

Set the suburbs you cover. Be accurate — don't list suburbs you won't actually travel to. The platform uses this to surface your profile when students search by location.

If you cover a wide area, list your core suburbs first. You can always expand later.

Step 4: Vehicle Type and Transmission

Specify whether you teach in a manual, automatic, or both. This is a critical search filter — students who need a manual car will not book an automatic-only instructor, and showing up accurately in filtered search results matters.

Step 5: Languages

If you teach in languages other than English, add them here. Non-English language badges on your profile are prominent and immediately useful to students who are searching for language-specific instructors.

Step 6: Pricing

Set your hourly rate and create any lesson packages you want to offer. Pricing should be competitive for your area while reflecting your experience level.

Be honest about your rates. Transparent pricing reduces the number of enquiries you receive just asking "how much do lessons cost?" and increases the quality of enquiries from students who are ready to commit.

Step 7: Availability

Configure the days and times you're available to teach. Be realistic — don't mark yourself available at times you won't reliably accept bookings. Students who book during times you then need to reschedule have a poor experience that's hard to recover from.

Set your lesson duration (typically 1 hour) and any buffer time you want between lessons.

Step 8: Payout Account

Under Settings → Payouts, connect your bank account for weekly earnings transfers. This requires a one-time identity verification through Stripe.

Step 9: Share Your Booking Page

Once your profile is complete, share your booking URL everywhere:

  • In your Instagram and Facebook bio
  • On business cards
  • In your WhatsApp status
  • When giving your number to anyone who asks about lessons

Replace "here's my number" with "here's my booking link" and let the platform do the rest.
