DriveBook offers four subscription plans designed for different stages of a driving instruction business — from a solo instructor just starting out to a driving school managing ten or more instructors. Understanding what each plan includes helps you choose the right level from day one and know when it makes sense to move up.

Each plan is available monthly or annually. Annual billing is discounted compared to paying month by month.
BASIC: The Starting Point
BASIC is designed for instructors who are new to DriveBook or running a straightforward solo operation. It includes:
- Your public booking profile and subdomain
- Online booking and calendar management
- Automated email reminders
- Student wallet payments
- Basic lesson history and student records
BASIC gives you everything you need to replace a paper diary, take online bookings, and collect payments professionally. For a new instructor building their first client base, it's the right place to start.
At BASIC, your booking page uses the default DriveBook branding — no custom logo or colours. Offline cash booking tracking and some advanced features are not included at this tier.
PRO: The Established Solo Instructor
PRO is where most active solo instructors land once they're running a full or near-full schedule. It adds:
- Custom booking page branding (your logo and brand colours)
- SMS notifications
- Offline/cash booking tracking
- Waiting list management
- PDA test tracking
- Document management
- Check-in/Check-out system
- Priority support
The custom branding is the biggest PRO upgrade — your booking page shows your logo and colours instead of generic DriveBook branding. Your subdomain URL stays on drivebook.com.au at this tier; a fully custom domain is a STUDIO feature.
STUDIO: The Branded Solo Instructor
STUDIO is for solo instructors who want the full white-label experience — their own domain pointing to their DriveBook booking page. It adds:
- Custom domain (connect your own domain, e.g.
johnsdrivingschool.com.au) - Fully branded booking page on your own domain
- White-label experience — DriveBook runs in the background invisibly
STUDIO is still a single-instructor account. If you need to manage multiple instructors under one school, that's BUSINESS.
BUSINESS: The Multi-Instructor School
BUSINESS is for driving schools managing multiple instructors from a single dashboard:
- Multiple instructor accounts (unlimited)
- Multi-instructor management from one admin dashboard
- Per-instructor calendar and availability management
- School-level branding across all instructor profiles
- Instructor performance reporting (bookings, completion rates, earnings)
- Centralised student management
- Custom domain support
- API access
- Advanced reporting and revenue dashboards
- Staff governance and role-based access
- Dedicated account manager and priority phone support
For a school owner, the admin dashboard shifts from personal tool to business management tool — you can see what every instructor has booked, track cancellation rates, and manage payouts centrally.
Starting on a Trial
New instructors start on a free trial period, which gives access to features at the PRO tier for a limited time. This lets you evaluate the platform properly before committing to a paid plan. BUSINESS plan trials run for 30 days; all other tiers run for 14 days.
When the trial ends, you choose the plan that fits your current operation. There's no penalty for starting on BASIC and upgrading later as your business grows.
Choosing the Right Plan
The simplest rule: start on the plan that matches where you are now, not where you hope to be.
A new instructor booking two or three lessons a week doesn't need BUSINESS tier features. Starting on BASIC keeps costs low while you're building. As your schedule fills and custom branding starts to look useful, that's when PRO makes sense. If you want your own domain rather than a drivebook.com.au subdomain, STUDIO is the step up from there.
For anyone managing multiple instructors under one school, BUSINESS is the right plan — multi-instructor management is a BUSINESS-only feature.
Moving Between Plans
You can upgrade at any time and the change takes effect immediately. Downgrading is available too, subject to billing cycle timing.
There are no lock-in contracts on monthly billing. Annual billing comes with the discount and runs for the year.
